Over the last several months those of us in South Africa have been trying to come to terms with Load Shedding, a rotational electrical supply shut down as put into place by our power utility to protect the grid.
In the early stages when this first started occurring, large parts of the country where mostly unsure of whether it would be light or dark at any given stage.
Eventually the schedules were sorted out and published so that you could know when your area would be without power.
Some great tools and websites were also developed to aid in knowing when your area would be without power. Our favourite is Grid Watch
Before the schedules were published and tools like the above become available, it seemed as if areas were going dark on some mysterious basis as indicated below.
