Little Lake Treasure Island Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

muskie dave: Finally able to check this cache today although the current in some places is still strong and not safe for beginner paddlers. This cache is missing and will not be replaced. Sharpeye468 was my co-pilot today and help on the maintenance run signing in as I made my spring check up on this cache. This is the fourth time that this cache has been washed away with the spring fast water. It's time to give up.

Geocache Description:

Water craft of some sort should be used to reach ground zero do not attempt to walk to the site unless you are four meters tall to keep your head above water. A FTF coin awaits the FTF cacher. BYOP as I neglected to put one in the cache container "Stainless steel water bottle" . Please return the cache to the location you found it thanks.

I believe this was the site of one of the early mills before the creation of Little Lake cemetery pre 1850. There are still slab wood pieces snagged by fishermen today. Each time I troll past this sunken island reminds me of "Treasure Island and Dead Man's Chest". Be ever mindful of the toothy critters "Muskies" that guard the island. To retrieve the cache a two meter pole with a hooked end or if your a good swimmer enjoy the fun. The container can easily be seen from the surface unless the lake is very choppy.
