Walk around Castle Donington 4
As the title suggests this is one of a series of caches placed around the northern part of my new hometown, Castle Donington. There should be 20 or more caches on a walk measured at about 4.2 miles.
Some of the footpaths near the A50 are very overgrown in summer, although as I write this at the beginning of August I have just negotiated all of them safely.
There is also a bonus puzzle cache which can be solved on foot near the final location, or you can collect the numbers from this series, do some maths and get the location.
The caches are ‘hidden to be found’ as they say, no devilishly difficult ones, or high terrain ratings. There are also a few older caches on the route that can be found if you haven’t already got them.
There is parking available at lots of locations around the route, but I would suggest staying somewhere close to #1 if you are going for the bonus.
A lot of the caches will require tweezers or the like to remove the log and you will need to bring your own pen – you wouldn’t come out caching without one would you?
It is likely that not all the caches will be published at the same time. So you can rush out for FTF if you really must, but may need to come back another day for others in the series.
