LV. Prūšu ielas skvērs. Senāk - populāra atpūtas vieta blakus esošajam platekrāna kinoteātrim "Maskava". Tagad - mazliet nolaists skvērs, kuru iemīlējuši vietējie pensionāri un "bamšļa" cienītāji(no pēdējiem ieteiktu uzmanīties!)..
Īss atskats vēsturē:
1932. - par godu netālu esošajam krogam iela tiek nosaukta Prūšu ielas vārdā.
1950. - iela tika pārdēvēta par Eduarda Smiltēna ielu, par godu Padomju Latvijas revolucionārajam darbonim.
1970. - blakus skvēram tiek atklāts platformāta kinoteātris “Maskava” ar 626 skatītāju vietām.
1976. - notiek skvēra rekonstrukcija pēc L.Bremzes projekta un atklāj tēlnieces A.Dumpes skulptūru “Jaunība”.
1993. - pēc vairāk nekā 20 gadu darbības tiek slēgts kinoteātris “Maskava”
1998. - bijušā kinoteātra “Maskava” telpās darbu sāk Rīgas domes uzņēmums-kinoteātris “Maska” ar 280 skatītāju vietām. Kinoteātris tiek atklāts ar trīs Zelta globusus ieguvušo filmu “Cik labi vien var būt”.
2000. - pēc 2 gadu darbības tiek slēgts pašvaldības finansētais kinoteātris “Maska”.
2005. - daļēji izdegušajās kinoteātra “Maska” telpās notiek traģisks negadījums - 2 pusaudzēm nokrītot no 8 metrus augstām kinoteātra konstrukcijām, viena no tām iet bojā.
2006. - Mākslas menedžmenta un informācijas centra(MMIC) un partneru izstrādātajā projektā bija paredzēts kinoteātra "Maska" telpās izveidot Kultūras centru “CITI” ar zāli kultūras pasākumiem, publisko bibliotēku un telpām konferencēm un izstādēm.
2009. - izsolē nonāk bijusī kinoteātra “Maska” ēka un tam pieguļošais zemesgabals ar sākuma cenu - 430 000 lati. Ar augšupejošu soli piedalījās trīs pretendenti – SIA Plesko Real Estate, Sia Palink un SIA Maxima Latvija. Izsolē uzvar SIA Palink, piedāvājot augstāko cenu – 1 270 000 latu.
2012. - vietā, kur kādreiz atradās kinoteātris "Maskava" un pēc tam kinoteātris "Maska", uzsākta jauna IKI tirdzniecības centra būvniecība.
2013. - ar 3 gadu nosacīto sodu vainīgajai personai tiek noslēgta tiesas prāva, kura tika uzsākta pēc traģiskā negadījuma, kad pirms 8 gadiem kinoteātra teritorijā gāja bojā pusaudze.
2014. - SIA Palink pārdod tam piederošo IKI veikalu tīklu SIA Mego un pamet Latvijas tirgu.
2015. - slepņotājs "kaninsh" izvieto savu pirmo slēpni skvērā augošajā ozolā!
2018. - jūnija sākumā, pēc ilgāka atspējošanas perioda, slēpnis tiek atjaunots kā zemē iegremdēta konstrukcija, kas rezultējas dāsnā FP skaitā!
2020. gada beigās zudušais slēpnis tiek atjaunots savā pirmreizējā vietā - skvērā augošā ozolā!

EN: Prusu street square. In the past - a popular resting place near the widescreen cinema "Maskava".
Now - a bit wornoff square, which is mostly visited by local retirees and "bamšļa" lovers(it`s recommend to avoid the last ones!)..
A brief look back into history:
1932 - in honor of the nearby pub the street is given the name Prusu street
1950 - street is renamed to Eduards Smiltens street to honor the Soviet Latvian revolutionary activist.
1970 - near the square opens a widescreen cinema "Maskava" with 626 seats.
1976 - Prusu ielas square undergoes a reconstruction after the project of L.Bremze and a sculptor "Jauniba" made by A.Dumpe is revealed at the same time
1993 - after more than 20 years of work the cinema "Maskava" is closed.
1998 - at the place of former cinema "Maskava" a new Riga City Council company-cinema "Maska" is created, with 280 seats. The cinema is opened with three Golden Globe-winning movie "As Good as It Gets"
2000 - after two years of work the local government funded cinema "Maska" is closed.
2005 - a tragic accident happens in the partly burned out cinema "Maska" - two teenagers fell from 8 meter high cinema contractions, after which one of them dies.
2006 - the Art Management and Information Center(MMIC) and their partners had plans remaking the old cinema "Maska" building into a cultural center "CITI" with cultural events hall , public library and rooms for conferences and exhibitions.
2009 - the former cinema "Maska" is sold in a auction with a starting price of 430 000 lats. In a upward step auction attend 3 candidates - Plesko Real Estate Ltd., Palink Ltd. and Maxima Latvia Ltd. - Palink wins the auction, offering the highest price - 1.27 million lats.
2012 - at the place of former cinema "Maskava", later "Maska", the construction of a new IKI shopping center is launched.
2013 - with a 3-year conditional sentence for the guilty person closes the trial, which was launched after the tragic death of a teenager 8 years ago.
2014 - Ltd Palink sells his IKI supermarket chain to Ltd Mego and leaves the Latvian market.
2015 - geocacher "kaninsh" places its first cache in the square-growing oak!
2018. - in June, after a longer period of been disabled, the cache is restored again as a under-ground level construction, what results in many FP given by geocachers!
2020. - in december the cache is again restored in the square-growing oak!
