Geocache Description:

This cache is located in beautiful Inwood Hill Park, one of Manhattan's secret getaways. A cache which will require you explore this wonderful natural park.

This cache will force you to go explore the park and perhaps re-explore parts of it that you have been before.
In order to open the locked ammo can, you must first get the combination. I have placed three waypoints at various locations around the park, each of them a black metal tag with a code written on them. Each code must be figured out in order to go get the numbers of the combination. Simple! Each of the tags have been placed within arms reach of the trails, so there will be no need to bushwack to find them. Some are high some are low, but I'm sure you'll be able to find them. Once you've gathered up your numbers, head to the GZ to find the last number that you'll need.

The posted coordinates will take you to a lovely place overlooking the Hudson River. The last number you will need is there. The cache is not there, but close to the overlook. If you think you are ready to put your locksmithing abilities to work, head north down the trail from the overlook until you see something that is similar to one of the waypoints. The actual cache is located somewhere in there. If you are paying really close attention, you will be able to see the bread crumbs leading you right to it. Once you have the cache in hand, just dial the three digit combo to open the lock. What do you mean you have four numbers? Hmm, I guess one of them was a Red herring. Don't worry, you were paying attention, so you'll know which one isn't the right number.

Inside the ammo can is a smaller drawer that contains the logbook and all of the goodies. it is marked with top and bottom, so make sure the bottom is on the bottom before you pull it open, so all of the stuff doesn't come falling out. I didn't want the drawer to rattle around so I secured it with a pin. just pull the pin out and the drawer will slide. What do you mean you can't get the pin out? I left you with everything you need! Look around a bit more and see if there is anything else there that might be of use.

Be sure to put everything back just the way you found it, and when you re-lock the container, be sure to zero out the combo (note: the lock will only re-lock if you have it set to the combo, so be sure that you do that so it will actually lock).

This cache will take a few hours to solve, so be sure you have enough water, food, and daylight to be out and about in the weather.

There are a few different ways to solve this puzzle (some easy, some hard) so take your time and enjoy! I've laid out a few hints to help solve it one way, but it might not be the easiest way.

Congrats to NYWanderer on the FTF!
