Questa cache può essere facilmente affrontata o collegata a una bella passeggiata nel sud dell'isola. Ma non importa quale delle due opzioni si sceglie, vertigini, calzature e un ragionevole pasti sono assolutamente necessarie.
Chi vorrebbe fare solo la cache e ha una corsa che può essere parcheggiata presso l'Osservatorio per la geofisica.
Chi ha interesse per i 10 chilometri di escursione, può scaricare la traccia fino alla fine delle liste a GPSies.
Alle coordinate della cache, uno ha non solo una vista fantastica sull'isola di Vulcano, ma anche i pinnacoli di roccia situati a sud ovest di Lipari Pietra Menalda e Pietra Lunga. Entrambi rappresentano frammenti di precedenti attività vulcanica dei vulcani di strato.
Si tratta di un'eruzione vulcanica, magma dall'alloggiamento del magma attraverso lo sfiato vulcanico si alza e passa attraverso il cratere sulla superficie ed emerge come lava.
Le rocce ignee emergenti o rocce vulcaniche si trovano sotto forma di colate di lava, sedimenti piroclastici o piroclastici. A seguito di un raffreddamento più rapido sulla superficie formano strutture cristalline con poca o nessuna.

At the Cachekoordinates one has not only a fantastic view of the island Vulcano, but also on the rock needles southwest situated by Lipari Pietra Menalda and Pietra Lunga. Both show fragments of former volcanic activity of layer volcanoes.
If it comes to a volcano eruption, magma of the magma chamber climbs up by the volcano chimney and reaches by his crater to the surface and resigns as a lava.
The originating igneous rocks or Vulkanite are found in the form of flows of lava, to Pyroklasten or pyroklastischen sediments. As a result of the quicker cooling in the surface they train none or only slightly crystalline structures.
From the magma numb in the volcano chimney to originating rock kinds are called depth rocks or Plutonite. Because they solidify not in the surface, but much more slowly in the volcano chimney, an education of crystalline structures which make the material substantially harder takes place while cooling the rock glazes.

- Which height above sea level has Pietra Menalda and Pietra Lunga;
- Which thickness has the rock block in the coordinates in cm (aid: Folding rule);

Dieser Cache kann einfach angegangen oder mit einer schönen Wanderung im Süden Liparis verbunden werden. Aber egal für welche der beiden Varianten man sich entscheidet, Trittsicherheit, festes Schuhwerk und eine angemessene Verpflegung sind unbedingt notwendig.
Wer nur den Cache machen möchte und über einen fahrbaren Untersatz verfügt, kann am Observatorium für Geophysik parken.
Wer Interesse an der ca. 10 km langen Wanderung hat, kann sich am Ende des Listings bei GPSies den Track herunter laden.
An den Cachekoordinaten hat man nicht nur einen phantastischen Ausblick auf die Insel Vulcano, sondern auch auf die südwestlich von Lipari gelegenen Felsnadeln Pietra Menalda und Pietra Lunga. Beide stellen Fragmente früherer vulkanischer Aktivität von Schichtvulkanen dar.
Kommt es zu einem Vulkanausbruch, steigt Magma von der Magmakammer durch den Vulkanschlot auf und gelangt durch dessen Krater an die Oberfläche und tritt als Lava aus.
Die entstehenden Eruptivgesteine oder Vulkanite finden sich in Form von Lavaströmen, Pyroklasten oder pyroklastischen Sedimenten. Infolge der schnelleren Abkühlung an der Oberfläche bilden sie keine oder nur geringfügig kristalline Strukturen aus.
Die aus dem im Vulkanschlot erstarrten Magma entstehenden Gesteinsarten werden als Tiefengesteine oder Plutonite bezeichnet. Da sie nicht an der Oberfläche, sondern sehr viel langsamer im Vulkanschlot erstarren, findet bei der Abkühlung der Gesteinsschmelze eine Ausbildung kristalliner Strukturen statt, die das Material wesentlich härter werden lassen.
Um den Cache zu loggen solltest Du folgende Angaben machen können:
- Beschreibe die Entstehung der Felsnadeln Pietra Menalda und Pietra Lunga;
- Welche Höhe über dem Meeresspiegel haben Pietra Menalda und Pietra Lunga;
- Welche Mächtigkeit hat der Gesteinsblock an den Koordinaten in cm (Hilfsmittel: Zollstock);
