Geocache Description:

A long time ago, huge works of confinement of the Seine, created this Port-Jérôme's harbour. The emperor Napoleon III inaugurates Port-Jérôme, of the name of the brother of Napoleon 1-st , dead previous year. A commemorative landmark calls back its visit on May 28, 1861.

In 1930 installation of two oil refineries with two cities for the employees: The Standard " (for Esso) and the Vacuum " (for Mobil-Oil). Refineries are partially destroyed in 1940 and reconstructed after 1945. At present this oil port sees immense vessels accosted. They bring gas or oil. They just stay time to unload their freight and go back in their country.

It is as well for all these sailors in sea, in sometimes difficult conditions and far from their country, that I dedicate these some hidding places of the region.
