Geocache Description:

Event Information:

Start: Saturday 19th of March, 10am.

End: Saturday 19th of March, 2pm

This event is for those who have always wanted to try playing a wherigo geocache, but didn’t know where to start. Please note, this event is not about building wherigo cartirdges.

Wherigo geocaches are a growing phenomenon which offers a new, exciting and often creative way to get outdoors and have fun, and at the end of it all, get a smilie! Some of the best geocaches created in Victoria are wherigo geocaches but unfortunately many geocachers have put the whole wherigo concept in the “too hard” basket.

Well Geocaching Melbourne is aiming to put an end to that! So we have assembled the finest set of expert wherigo players to come along to this event to offer anybody who wishes, whatever assistance they need to help start finding wherigo geocaches! That’s right, whether you be a newbie just starting out, or an experienced geocacher who is just unsure of how to even start a wherigo, this event will help you get out there and start wherigoing!

The event will run between 10am and 2pm and we created three “event-wherigo” cartridges that you can learn how to download, run and play. There will be friendly volunteers throughout the day who will be able to offer helpful advice if you get stuck. The event will be held at the Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club who have kindly donated their facilities and have a wonderful display, full of lots of interesting and informative pieces that will hopefully make for some fascinating wherigo cartridges.

Although we will help you loading these cartridges onto your device on the day, you can download them now as well.

Please note, these “event-wherigo” cartridges will not actually count towards your find tally on geocaching.com. They will be available for limited time only and are designed to help you get used to the wherigo platform.
