All Hallows - Rowton
This cache is one of a series set at or near churches in the lovely surroundings of the Shropshire countryside.
We’d like to thank The Washers for conceiving the idea, initiating the series and inviting other cachers to add to it.
All Hallows is in the village of Rowton, which was know as Retina in Roman times. The vilage is known for the meteorite which fell nearby in 1876.
The church has mediaeval foundations but was reconstructed in 1881 by the architect Geoffrey Smith. Having increased the size of the building to accommodate a larger congregation, there is almost none of the original masonry remaining.
