Geocache Description:

[LAT] Slēpnis ir tradicionāls micro konteiners, kas vairumam slēpņotāju ir labi pazīstams. Satur viesu grāmatu un zīmuli.

[ENG] The cache is a traditional micro container, which is well known to most Geocachers. Contains the logbook and a pencil.

[LAT] Lielupes kreisajā krastā, iepretī Ānes muižas laukiem atradusies Vecsvirlaukas muiža. Saukta arī Bergfrīda (kalna miers), tiesa gan – šajā apkārtnē nav neviena kalna…. Tomēr izrādās, ka šī vieta, pat vislielākajos plūdos nav applūdusi. 1676. gada dokumentā minēts, ka muižas ēkas bijušas celtas no māla kleķa, klātas ar salmu jumtiem, tāpēc no bijušās muižas, kas aizgājusi bojā kara gados, nav palikušas pat drupas.

Muižas klēts gan saglabājusi savu veidolu un paceļas pāri applūdušajām Lielupes palieņu pļavām vēl šodien. Un joprojām neapplūst pat lielākajos pavasara plūdos. Tiesa gan – piekļuves ceļi gan var applūst.

Tā atrodas privātā teritorijā “aiz zīmes” tāpēc iesakām to apskatīt pa gabalu - no slēpņa “Vau Vau”. No paša slēpņa paveras ainavisks skats uz Lielupi.

[ENG] On the left bank of Lielupe river, opposite the fields of Āne Manor used to stand Vecsvirlauka Manor. Also called Bergfriede (peace of mountain), though – there is no mountain in closest surroundings…. It appears, however, that this place, even in the largest floods remained untouched. In the document referred to in 1676 mentioned that the estate had been built of pise, covered with thatched roofs, and therefore from the former Manor, which has been destroyed in the war years, not even the ruins remain today.

The barn of the Manor kept its shape and transcends over Lielupe’s flood-land meadows today. And it still is not affected even during major spring flooding. In fact access roads could be flooded sometimes.

The barn is in a private territory so we recommend that you view it from a distance – approximately from the “Vau Vau” co-ordinates. From Vecsvirlauka Manor cache site you may enjoy picturesque view over Lielupe river.
