Geocache Description:

Join us for another joint event with the Freestate Happy Wanderers Walking Club and the Maryland Geocaching Society!

Come out and visit the MGS table and sign the event log, then swing by the Freestate Happy Wanderers table to learn more about Volksmarching, and complete one of their loops (or more).

Event runs from 10:00am - 1:00 pm.

This event is co-located with the Montpelier Festival of Herbs, Teas and the Arts, which is sponsored by the PG County Dept of Parks and Rec.

Volksmarching is a noncompetitive 5km or 10km walk along a preplanned route that is organized by a hiking club.

The geocachers can learn what volksmarching is and can enjoy the caches that are already placed along the trails for this volkswalk. We will explain to volksmarchers and anyone else interested what geocaching is about. There will be information about volksmarching and geocaching. Participation in the volksmarch is optional.
