A. This songwriter from The Woodlands, Texas, was nominated for a 2016 Grammy for Best Country Song, while a singer from Jacksonville, Texas, was nominated for Best Country Performance for recording that song. Neither won a Grammy, but a member of the group that did win for Best Country Song (and Best Country Duo/Group Performance) is also from Texas. The clip features a different song, recorded in 2011.
B. This Crosby, Texas, native received Grammy awards in 1999 and 2014. For the 2016 awards, this musician was nominated for Best Americana Album and was one of two Texans nominated for Best American Roots Song. The clip is from 2010.
C. Having previously won Grammy awards for Best Country Song and Best Country Album, this native of Golden, Texas, was again nominated for Best Country Album at the 2016 awards. The clip features the title song from that album.
D. Prior to 2016, this performer had been nominated for 12 Grammy awards and had won 3. The Fort Worth native added two more nominations at the 2016 awards – for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.
E. This Denton, Texas, group received their seventh Grammy nomination when their composer was nominated at the 2016 awards for Best Instrumental Composition. The clip features them performing an earlier piece nominated for Best Instrumental Composition for the 2010 awards.
F. This Arlington-based group won back-to-back Grammy awards in 2015 and 2016 for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella.
G. The clip of this performer, who grew up in the Fort Worth suburb of Crowley, features a song from an album nominated for Best R&B Album at the 2016 Grammy awards.
H. Many members of this group, which originated in Denton, are former members of Artist E. They won a Grammy in 2016 for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, after winning in 2014 for Best R&B Performance. The clip features a 2014 performance of a different number.
I. The winner of a Grammy for Best Alternative Album, this performer who grew up in Dallas is the only artist on the video who won a Grammy in 2015 but not 2016. The clip features a song from that Grammy-winning album.
Now determine the value of J: The CD package pictured at the end of the video won its Austin-based designers (Sarah Dodds, Shauna Dodds and Dick Reeves) a Grammy in 2016 for Best Recording Package. If the band on the album was Reckless Kelly J=2. If it was The Drive-By Truckers J = 3. If it was Asleep at the Wheel J = 4.
