Geocache Description:

Zaklad je skrit v bližini cerkve Sv. Jakoba.

The cache is hidden near the church St. Jakob.

"Sveti Jakob" je visok 806 metrov in leži v Polhograjskem hribovju.

"St. Jacob" is 806 m high peak in "Polhograjsko hribovje". The summit with the church on top can be seen from afar. On a clear day the summit offers a wonderful view of "Sorško polje"," Ljubljanska kotlina", "Šmarna gora", "Karavanke" and Julian Alps with Triglav.
Succursal church of St. Jacob dates from the 17th century but it was heavily damaged in earthquake in 1895. The present appearance results from the end of 19th century. The ceiling of the church nave is level and the presbytery is covered with a dome. In the niche of the main altar a statues of St. Jacob is placed together with two other saints.
"St. Jacob" is also known for its mass for the homeland, which is held on 26th December, a day after Christmas, when The Independence and Unity Day is celebrated in Slovenia. On this day in 1990, the first democratically elected members of Parliament and ministers of the first Slovenian government gathered at "St. Jacob" after the solemn declaration of the results of the plebiscite for an independent Slovenia.
There are many paths leading to "St. Jacob". The easiest way is to start from Topol (738 m). You can leave your car on a parking ground at school or a bit higher at Inn "Na Vihri". Or we can start from Tehovec.
