Geocache Description:

Sedge Tranquil Adventure
Welcome to the Sedgefield River, one of the most special & beautiful places to us. Every moment shared here is a complete privilege. Trust you are able to soak up and enjoy as much of the tranquillity and beauty you can and that is the most important thing about all our caches in Sedgefield.

The cache is not hidden at the coordinates provided. To find the cache, you need to download and play the related Wherigo Sedge Tranquility Adventure which will provide you with the information you need to find the cache. All the information needed to find the cache is provided when you complete the Wherigo, including the final coordinates.

This cache is definitely recommended at low tide however at high tide it is doable but you will be getting rather wet. The cache is not hidden at the coordinates provided. How it works is that you download an app on your phone and then you download the cartridge from the link provided lower down. It then runs like a program going through the story triggered by the GPS signal when you enter each zone along the walk. Once you complete the Wherigo program you will receive the final coordinates to the physical cache and the hint. You need to find and sign the logbook in order to be able to log the cache.

This tremendously scare rare cache is an Awesome walk all along the waters edge of the Sedge River mouth. We have specially invested a copious amount of time into making it an Incredible Adventure Mission Quest that will be thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Please do not shy away from the Difficulty/Terrain rating or the type of cache as you will be guided and there are programming safety nets in place. At the bottom of this cache listing is a step by step assistance for cachers enjoying a wherigo cache for the first time or wanting to brush up on how a wherigo cache works in practice.

The intended value of this particular Wherigo Cache is to firstly share some the magnificence and stunning tranquillity of the area and spot. Secondly to be wrapped up in the adventure. Thirdly to enjoy caching in a new dimension. Fourthly to also get to enjoy the other caches along the river as you walk the journey.

The Wherigo is a walk of about 2km with a rather constant gradient and very little uphill. It starts at the coordinates at the boating club slipway and goes all the way along the waters edge towards the mouth with plenty of surprises. Depending on the skill level without getting any caches along the way it should take between 30-50 min. If collecting all the caches along the way it should take about 50 min to Hour and a half. Parking is best at the parking coordinates provided and you will be returned to your vehicle conveniently without having to walk the same route along the water again.

Fully charged batteries are essential. Battery packs are recommended but not essential. You would not want your devices to go flat on you part way through the journey. If you have any problems playing this one, please let us know.

Below are aerial pictures of the Sedgefield Mouth and Upper region of the river:

This is a story of you as a Knobble of the king who is having to collect and deliver a large amount of things all along the journey. Various of those raw materials will have to be taken for processing. After processing there are critical deliveries of the finished products that will need to be made. One of the essential quests that will affect the entire nation is that you will need to collect a critical letter and deliver it to the King so that the troops can be positioned strategically. There are various great characters along the way like the king and his General.

The Wherigo quest will be the most challenging Adventure Mission Quest you have ever been entrusted with. You will need to abseil into caves, navigate a river, survive the dangers of wildlife that lurk, face puzzles, water falls, lean on your survival training and more.

Your Adventure Mission Quest will take you all along the waters edge of the Sedgefield River mouth to the Palace, where the environment has been woven into your quest, taking you to places you can only dream of. Please wear good water shoes like sandles that can grip on wet rocks or diving Booties or river rafting shoes or the general outdoor store water and rock shoes. It is essential to bring along a pen. Please note that it is not recommended to attempt after dark as seen in the water and finding the caches along way will be greatly affected.

The Sedge Tranquil Adventure Wherigo cartridge can be played on most GPS enabled mobile phones using a downloadable wherigo player / app. Just make sure your GPS accuracy on your smart phone is above average! It can also be played on an Ipad or tablet. Please let us know if you have any problems. It can also be played on a Garmin Origen or Colorado although we have not been able to test it on those units yet. For a rich experience, use a smart phone.

Thank you for sharing this area and cache with us. We trust that you enjoyed the Adventure Mission Quest Wherigo and your experience here.

Please take a picture at your favourite spot anywhere near the mouth either side of the Coordinates or along the river and upload in your Log. Please share a picture so everyone can enjoy the collection.

Wherigo "How to" Guidance
Start by installing a wherigo player on your smart phone. For Android the best app is called "WhereYouGo". For apple the best app is called "Wherigo". More guidance on other devices can be provided on Request.

Then download the Sedge Tranquil Adventure cartridge from the Wherigo Site.
Sedge Tranquility Adventure

Then move the file from the downloads folder into the folder of the wherigo app.

Then you can open the app and select "Start". It will then give you a selection of cartridges to choose from. If the cartridge you downloaded in not amungst the options then it is not in the correct folder. When you have selected the correct cartrdge from the "Start" selection then you may begin the story. The operating of the story should be self explanatory from there. However there are a few things to note and look out for.

When navigating I prefer to use the in app map to navigate from zone to zone. However the alternative is if you prefer you can use your in app compass to show you the direction and distance to the following zone.

At EVERY location it is essential to check your “You See” menu to collect items that are there. Check “You See' items to make sure you have completed every thing before setting off for the next location.

You can also check your “Tasks” menu to see what needs to be done and check your progress along the way.

There should be no lag but depending on device there might be slight delays in things being triggered. There has been the occasional challenge where some smart phones are not triggering when entering the first zone. Restart the device and it has been noted that this has corrected the challenge.

If there are any challenges whatsoever then please contact us. If you are new to that also then select our caching user name on the cache and it should take you to our profile page where you will have an option to send both an in app message or an email.

Above all enjoy the environment and the adventure.
