Meet fellow geocachers and learn all about Geocaching Basics from experienced cachers on Thursday, November 10, beginning at 6:55 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Blvd. (Click for map.)
Off The Log - Best Laid Plans - Disasters - Lessons Learned
Come and listen as GeocacheAlaska! brings in Alaska Cachers to share their personal stories: funny, sad and sweet. There’s always a place where Cachers gather and stories are told! This evening features true stories born from those moments when the best laid caching plans maybe turn into disaster and then lessons are learned! OR…when we just want to tell someone, “You’ll never guess what happened…” 10 Cachers will each have 5 minutes to tell their stories! The Best Laid Plans…..The Disasters…..and The Lessons Learned! Yes! You have a story to tell!
Tonight's host is Louise Kempker (freeweez) who will have several cachers each presenting their own "Off The Log story" about geocaching adventures that went amiss and what was fun, and what was learned! This event is perfect for all cachers, regardless of age or experience level. Bring a friend, even a muggle, as the more the merrier.
If YOU have a geocaching survival story and would be willing to present it to the audience during this event, please contact freeweez right away via the messenger feature on her GC profile.
This event will be carried live over the internet via WebEx with audio over a phone line. GeocacheAlaska! Sourdough Members who cannot attend an event site can link in remotely. Contact the Webmaster for instructions on how to do so.
Please post a "Will Attend" log on this event page to stay appraised of any changes or updates to this presentation. If we need to make any announcements about this event, all registered attendees will automatically receive an email copy of those announcements via the email you have registered with your Geocaching.com account. Adding a "Will Attend" log to this page will also assure enough hard copy handouts are printed for the event participants.
Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to start precisely at 7:00 p.m. Also, please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to share with your fellow cachers.
The GCAK Store will be available onsite immediately before the presentation. Our new 2016 Denali geocoins and pathtags, as well as the new Mosquito coins will be available at this event.
