There will be a Trackable / Coin exchange area

Additional activity: The Nissqually picnic shelter is located inside the point defiance park. Come spend the morning at the zoo, or finding a few of the many caches located inside the park, or spend sometime with your geo-dog at the off leash dog park just a short distance from the picnic.

Theme: Since we are at Point Defiance Park this year, and it is best known for the zoo, we thought that it would be fun to have a zoo theme, but not just any zoo theme we want to have fun zoo theme, so it's going to be Mythical Zoo this year. Feel free to bring a potluck item that fits theme or if you feel like it you could even dress the part! A few mythical zoo creatures might be Dragons, Unicorns, Pink Elephants, Jackalopes and much more.

The Potluck:

Picnicking: Besides whats in the shelter there are many more tables right next to the shelter that we can spread out on. As always it might be a good idea to bring along favorite chair, if you want to be sure of having a comfortable place to sit.

Food & Drink: We'll have hamburgers, and hot dogs on the grill, plus all the fixin's. For beverages we will have soda, water and ice. This is a potluck so please bring a dish, side dish, or desert to share.

Parking Information: Please be aware that there is only a limited amount of parking at the shelter (42 spots) and it is a shared lot for the Fort Nissqually Museum, the shelter we will be at, as well as the off leash dog park. There may also be some addition street parking available. The bottom line is that parking may get little tricky, depending on how busy the other nearby places are. Please consider carpooling and arriving early if possible. If you cannot find a spot in the lot or prefer to walk in from another part of the park, please feel free to briefly double park in the area closest to the shelter while you drop off any potluck items or other things that want to have with you at the picnic.

Volunteers needed: We need one or preferably two people that enjoy grilling and would like to cook and monitor the potluck area, message WSGA Puget Sound, SirKarp or post in your log if you'd like to do some of the cooking. However I want to mention that we won't be strapping you to the grill, we'll take turns so no one will be stuck cooking the entire time.

Additionally we can always use a volunteer or two to help with setup and / or take down. Message WSGA Puget Sound, Sirkarp or post in your log if you'd like to volunteer.

RSVP: When you log your will attend, please make sure to let us know in your log what you will be bringing for food to the potluck. We will add your name to the list and what you bringing. This will help to increase the variety of food available.

Additional information: There is no Alcohol allowed at the event. There is NO parking or day use fee for attendees. There is water at the shelter, as well as power, and the restrooms are nearby. Your well behaved Geo-dog is welcome at the picnic per-park rules on a leash.
