The area
Walhalla is a beautiful old gold-mining village, nestled in a steep valley along Stringers Creek. With a population of over 2,000 people at the height of the gold rush boom, the town is now home to less than twenty permanent residents. The history and beauty of Walhalla attracts a huge number of tourists, who can explore sites such as the cemetery, railway, cricket ground and gold mines.
