There is quite a lot of information here, a lot of this is variations on the original information I worked on 1992. I also helped do the boardwalk here at Errinundra saddle.
Be careful as you walk around the boardwalk, it is very slippery when moist, which is all the time. This is the first site of protests against logging Operations in the area. Where you parked the car is where the camp was. Even-though, I have worked in forestry in this area and are now 99% conservationists I am very indebted to the people who made a stand here and at other locations for their very small victories. Sadly the original shelter and picnic area has been replaced with what you sadly see now. Picnic table and toilets available. Great spot for a longer stop. This will probably be the most difficult cache to find in the series, but it has the easiest terrain.
You may be interested to note that if this area was in state forest, it would be available for logging. As the Government decides what can and cant be logged and definitions of certain features. This walk would not be considered rainforest and would not be protected. This is because there are Eucalypts in the canopy. Under current definitions this means it is not considered rainforest and available for logging. It is not taken into account that there is a full floristic structure of a rainforest here. But the definitions have been changed to suite an industry that is after the few thousand plus year old trees above, that most likely grew from small disturbances in the rainforest allowing light to reach the ground.
