Fremantle Ports has provided a view and fishing platform with access for people with special needs, including those using wheel chairs. Well done, Ports! It's also a great place for a cache.
North mole is a rock wall that marks the entry into the Swan River and the Port of Fremantle. The proximity to the shipping lanes means there is deep water close to the bank and one side of the mole is generally protected from strong winds. This spot is known for a variety or fish species including Snapper, Whiting, Salmon, Squid and even the occasional Spanish Mackerel or Tuna.
The main purpose of the Mole is as a protective breakwater. However, over the years, the North Mole has become a very important recreational fishing platform used by many people.
Why not bring a fishing rod, a bit of bait and an Esky? Have a great time fishing for dinner and the cache. Sunrise and sunset are particularly nice times to explore the North Mole.
