Geocache Description:

Parking in East Leake is in the centre of the village where there are currently free car parks and access to all the caches is easy. You can park on Lantern Lane to be closer to the caches on the N.East of the village but if you do this one on a school day, please be considerate to parents and residents and watch out for children!

Originally placed in 2015 but had the habit of disappearing due to renovation work by the farmer. This is a replacement new container bigger than before but is a very slightly different place but same coordinates. So now published as a new cache.

The access to this cache has changed. There are new houses being built on Lantern Lane and the first section is closed. From the tarmaced part of Lantern lane, take the track on the right - Sheepwash Lane, go half a mile or so down to the stile on the left that leads through the horse fields. Go through these, around the fenced school playing field and then back onto Lantern Lane further up, past the closed section. In the summer it is dry but uneven walking but in winter or after rain the bridleway is a gooey mixture of mud and horse manure. Kids will love it but it can be quite hard walking with mud to the tops of wellies! Dogs are ok on this track - there are stiles but dog accessible. It is no longer really pushchair friendly unless you can lift over. The cache is located just near the farmhouse. This is a working farm but the cache is on public property. Stealth needed due to proximity to farm. It is a small traditional cache with pencil and log and will take small swaps and TB's.
Alice Link In Chapter III ‘A Caucaus-race and A Long Tale’ -of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ -, Alice has fallen down the rabbit's hole and meets a motley collection of creatures who are all very wet which is Alice’s fault -Do you know why? To help distract them, one creature relates his life story, proving he has a very long tale in more ways than one! Who is he and where might you find him hiding?
