In an old granite quarry, not far from LL Bean in Freeport, Maine
Brought to you by Hot Wheels and nitrobot – a father and son geocaching team.
Welcome to Freeport’s first cache. This cache is in an old granite quarry and is physically 0.44 miles from LL Bean’s traditional entrance. Think about it, an opportunity to immediately try out that new hiking gear you just bought. The best place to park is at Bow Street Market. Cross at the crosswalk and follow the asphalt path up through the Quarry Ridge apartment complex. Stay to the right as you go through to the old road at the back of the complex.
I set the coordinates with a dozen reading average using a Garmin 45. Please email your found it coordinates for entry into my averaging spreadsheet. K1BS@aol.com I will monitor and adjust if needed.
This cache is a two-quart rubber maid container. The original contents include: A logbook with two pencils and two pens. Five Hot Wheels – the fire truck series. Eyeore toy from McD’s An MIIB Frank character – bobbling head – from BK. A clip on compass to find your way, and a carabineer to clip your GPS to your belt.
After you find this cache, be sure to replace the birch bark covering.
