Geocache Description:

An obscure hut site......

Eric Johnson was a ski and walking guide who helped people climbing Mt Hotham on the Bon Accord Spur in the 1940s - this cache marks the location of his hut about 1km up the Spur beyond the old Bon Accord Hut. There is little to see now, a small pile of stones marking his chimney and a few bits of broken plates and glass.  According to the only reference I can find the hut was built in 1944 and had gone by the early 1950s, and was a 'Permissive Occupancy' on Crown Land.

The cache is a small polypipe container with logbook and pencil and a trackable for FTF. Placed on a Murray Valley Bushwalkers walk up and down the Bon Accord Spur.

The top of Bon Accord Spur is extremely exposed in bad weather, in summer or winter. If you are going to find this cache from above, ie Diamantina Hut or the Razorback, you should be well prepared,
