Geocache Description:

In 2009 I did the walk from Reservoir Road to Waitekauri and then onto Whangamata with a night in a tent. I was surprised when I came accross this.

Link about the track

A forty eight acre block was once farmed here. I have no other information about it. All that remains of the old home which stood nearby is this hedge.

Park at the end of Reservoir Road and follow the track past the dam. After 10 minutes there is a crossing of the Tarariki Stream and the track starts to climb.

There are a few good viewing points on the way up. Which can be steep and slippery at times.

The cache is about 20m off the track and is nested in part of the old hedge directly behind the pine tree. You are looking for a camo pill bottle. You will need to take your own pen

From car to cache is approx 1hr.

Please take the usually precautions when entering the bush. Ensure you tell someone where you are going. While the track is easy to follow there are very few markers on the track.

Please note that the track from here to "The old Coach Road Hut" cache passes near a hidden lake and an old mai mai that may be active during the duck shooting season (May-June). Take care during this time of the year
