JULIEN JOSEPH AUDETTE – CANADA150

Julien Joseph Audette was born in Saskatchewan in 1914. This native Fransaskois was a true pioneer in aviation and gliding in Canada.

At one point in his career, Julien Joseph Audette held all eight records available, six of them simultaneously. He was the first Canadian to receive the F Badge (also known as the Diamond Badge), awarded by the World Air Sports Federation.

Mr. Audette was also a founding member of the Regina Gliding and Soaring Club. He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame on March 26, 1977.

Julien Joseph Audette est né en Saskatchewan en 1914. Ce Fransaskois d’origine est un véritable pionnier de l’aviation et du vol à voile au Canada.

À un certain moment de sa carrière, Julien Joseph Audette était le détenteur de huit records sur une possibilité de huit, dont six obtenu simultanément. Il est aussi le premier Canadien à avoir obtenu l’insigne F (aussi appelée insigne de diamant) remise par la Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.

Monsieur Audette est également un des membres fondateurs du Club de vol à voile de Regina. Il fut intronisé au Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame le 26 mars 1977.
