The purpose of this virtual cache is the Eagle project. Of any 100
boys who join scouting, only 1 or 2 percent of them will earn the
highest rank of Eagle Scout. Why is this? I believe it is due to
the Eagle Project requirement. This is a project that the boy must
think of, plan, manage, acquire funds for, and do reports about.
This project must be for the betterment of the community, the scout
religious organization, or the scouts sponsoring organization.
To receive credit for this cache, you do not have to belong to
the Boy Scouts in any way. However, you must:
1. Get a picture, with the GPS, of
the completed project. Show some of the highlights of the project.
2. If possible, with a little research, the troop of the Scout
who performed the project and his State and Town.
3. Tell how the project improved the area.
4. Provide some information about what the project is all about.
5. Only one log per team or cacher.
I have provided the Eagle Project that took place at Valley Falls
Park in Vernon, CT. This project was done by a member of Troop 86
Vernon, CT.
