MY DOG ARROW WILL BE ATTENDING THIS EVENT. HE IS A FRIENDLY 6 MONTH OLD PUPPY WHO IS ALSO TIMID. HE LOVES OTHER DOGS BUT HAS NOT MASTERED MANNERS WHEN MEETING NEW DOGS & GETS VERY EXCITED. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS WITH OUR DOGS GETTING ALONG. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.
A pirate themed geo-event sounded like a lot of fun so I decided to host one here on Pawtuckaway Lake. There's a cozy island that we will gather on for a meet & greet before partaking in a treasure hunt. Arrive by boat at noon.
Feel free to swap TB's & you may want to pack a lunch. There is a rope swing on the island, though the landing can be hazardous if you're not skilled in avoiding the rocks below. Bring a towel if you plan to swim, I look forward to meeting everyone.
You are not required to participate in the treasure hunt in order to log this event. We will start the treasure hunt at the 30 minute mark (12:30) by drawing coordinates out of a container. Once everyone has drawn coords you will enter them into your GPS & venture off in search of Rubies, Sapphires & Yellow Topaz.
If you find a Shell, Starfish or Crab: return to our original meeting place for your prize.
If you find a gemstone: collect it & return to our original meeting place. The gemstone will be traded for your prize.
YOU MUST PROVIDE MATCHING COORDINATES TO YOUR GEMSTONE WHEN YOU TRADE IT IN FOR YOUR PRIZE TO PROVE THAT THE GEMSTONE "BELONGS" TO YOU & WASN'T FOUND BY SHEER LUCK.
Camping is almost always available at Pawtuckaway State Park so if you're interested in taking a day or two to cache on the lake that might be a great idea to camp out.
The Ruby is first place. The Sapphire is second place & the Yellow Topaz is third place.
