The Société Radio-Canada/Canadian Broadcasting Corporation was created in 1936. In 1939, CBK Watrous opened, a CBC/Radio-Canada station whose broadcasts were to include  French-language programming for the West. In 1951, Radio-Canada  governors  granted licences for the construction of two private French-language stations in Saskatchewan, CFNS in Saskatoon and CFRG  in Gravelbourg. These were later sold to the Société Radio-Canada, in 1973.

Radio-Canada Saskatchewan French television began broadcasting officially in 1976. Seven years later, the Maison de Radio-Canada/CBC Building was officially opened at 2440 Broad Street, its current location.

The mission of Radio-Canada is to be the national public broadcaster of the Canadian people and to offer varied program on all its platforms: radio, television, the web, and social media. Radio-Canada Saskatchewan is proud and happy to have a geocache in Regina and to contribute in this way to the celebrations marking Canada's 150th birthday.
