Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Washtenaw County Parks' 2017 Geocaching Adventure! This year, nine geocaches await you on our properties. Your mission is to find them, note the code words listed inside each cache and, once you have found all nine, submit your complete list of caches and related code words to us via the Send Email option. Those geocachers who complete our adventure will receive a special collectible. The FTF for the entire series receives a special prize.

Welcome to the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission's 2017 Geocaching Adventure! This year, we have placed nine geocaches in our properties throughout the county. Your mission is to find them, note the code words listed inside each cache and, once you have found all nine caches, contact us via the Send Email option on Geocaching.com with your complete list of caches and related code words. Those geocachers who complete the adventure will receive a special collectible. But wait! There's more! One of our geocaches is a mystery cache. To find it, you'll need to collect the coordinate segments from three different caches. One of our 2017 caches is also a little more challenging than a traditional hide, so prepare to be challenged! If you're gunning to be our FTF this year, be sure to email us your list of code words as soon as possible! Now head outside and have a wonderful Adventure!

Located just northwest of the Village of Manchester, the Leonard Preserve is the largest natural area in Washtenaw County's system of preserves, comprising 259 acres that protect nearly one mile of River Raisin shoreline. This rich and diverse landscape includes rolling hills, woodlands, wetlands, prairie, and former pasture land, with a diversity of habitats that makes for excellent wildlife viewing. Wood ducks, coyotes, and Blanding’s turtles are amongst the animals you may see as you hike the more than four miles of nature trails in the preserve. The Leonard Preserve is open year round from dawn to dusk. As with all of our preserves, no dogs are allowed on the property. Please ensure that the cache is properly camouflaged when you replace it. Thanks!
