The posted coordinates are for the Powell Building. In the additional waypoint section is the parking coordinates for the Cedar Lane Cemetery. (do NOT drive into the cemetery)
Instead of trying to copy the relevant information for this campus onto this listing page for you to scroll through, you can preform your searches for information suited to your interest at your leisure. Some of my search results are results, results and results.
To claim a find for this virtual geocache, you'll need to complete three simple tasks. Message me the information for A & B, then post your picture of 'C' with your found it log.
A) Go to the Cedar Lane Cemetery. You will see several metal markers grouped at the front gate. What identification is on the metal marker for the person in the Southwest corner?
B) Go to the statue for this macabre cemetery. Look east towards the men's prison chapel and locate one of the tallest monuments in the yard. Who's name is on this stone?
C) Photo opp. Upload a picture of yourself (or group) with your log at the posted coordinates. (in front of the fountain) at the Powell Building. The fountain & building should be the background.
A checker (located in the additional waypoint section) has been provided for question A. If you don't message me with two correct answers, then your 'found it' will be deleted. To avoid log deletion, check your findings prior to leaving the area. Your answers will be confirmed.
This campus is state own / managed property and not gated. The active campus is open to the public with a tour and museum option. I suggest visiting the campus on the weekends during the mid day. The campus has several active state agency's and state employees who are all over the campus. Plan to allow yourself plenty of time for observations with your visit.
Do not approach the abandoned buildings! You'll see the campus police as they monitor your activity. The Powell Building is currently open and caring for patients.
