They said it couldn't be built. The strait that connects the Pacific Ocean with the San Francisco Bay is one of the most unforgiving stretches of water in the world. Yet, here this magnificent structure stands. In 1994, the American Society of Civil Engineers named it as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. It is the most photographed bridge on Earth.
Welcome to the Golden Gate Bridge!
