Die Wiener Hofburg ist mit ihren mehr als 2500 Räumen einer der größten und berühmtesten Palastkomplexe der Welt. Die ältesten Teile entstanden um 1275, gebaut wurde an ihr bis ins 20. Jahrhundert hinein. Sie war bis 1918 Residenz und Regierungszentrum der Habsburger-Kaiser. Heute finden sich hier zahlreiche Museen, wie z.B. das Sisi-Museum und herausragende Sammlungen, wie die Kaiserliche Schatzkammer, weiters die Spanische Hofreitschule, der Sitz des österreichischen Bundespräsidenten, ein Kongresszentrum sowie der geschichtsträchtige Heldenplatz.

Aufgabe zum Geocache: Um diesen Virtual-Cache loggen zu dürfen, suche am Heldenplatz ein berühmtes Reiterstandbild, ein Meisterwerk, welches über 10 Tonnen Bronze ohne jeglichen anderen Kontaktpunkt nur auf zwei Beinen ausbalanciert und lade ein Foto von dir hoch, davor stehend. Alternativ kannst du auch dein Navigationsgerät oder Smartphone mit dem Denkmal fotografieren. Fotos mit dem Denkmal alleine können leider nicht akzeptiert werden.
Vienna's Imperial Palace with its more than 2500 rooms is one of the biggest and most famous palace structures in the world. The oldest parts date back to about 1275, with construction having continued right into the 20th century.
The Imperial Palace was the residence and seat of government of the Habsburg emperors until 1918. Today, it is home to numerous museums, e.g. the Sisi-Museum and outstanding collections like the Imperial Schatzkammer, the Spanish Riding School, the seat of the Austrian Federal President, a congress center as well as the historic Heldenplatz. You can find a brief history here.
Your task to log this geocache is to visit the Heldenplatz and find a famous equestrian statue, a masterpiece of more than 10 tons of bronze, standing balanced on only two feet without any other junction to the ground. Take a picture of you or your navigation device front of this statue and upload it together with your log. Pictures with the monument only will not be accepted.
