Louis Boileau, a farmer from the Fransaskois town of Hoey, became known for his involvement with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

Louis Boileau had a degree in business and was interested in the Pool's cooperative movement. He became secretary then regional director of the local committee and, in 1947, he became vice-president of the cooperative.

During the great drought and the crop failures of the 1960s, Louis Boileau played a leading role. He increased contacts with producers in other provinces and  European countries and looked for ways to stabilize the income of farm families.

He died in June 1966 following a long illness.
