SWEDISH LUTHERAN CEMETERY
A Webster County Pioneer Burying Ground
Located in the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 30 in Dayton Township, Webster County, Iowa
All that remains of this small burying ground is four grave markers and one stone monument, erected here in the memory of those who were buried here and unaccounted for. This monument, south of the four main stones, was erected in 1952 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church that sat on this site. The cemetery grounds actually go pretty far back to the west, but only the front part is maintained. It remains a mystery to how many were buried on this site, but those that were are said to be Swedish immigrants and likely some of the first residents of Webster County.
