I have had my eye on this patch of Warrandyte State Park for a few cache placements for some months now and after some recent social media discussion I noticed there were some archived caches here from 2006. Looking closer at them I thought they may even still be there, and maybe one or two are but I couldn’t locate them.
Anyway, I have decided to hide new cache in virtually the same spot in remembrance of them, keeping the first part of the old cache name with an “is back” at the end, and I’ve decided to keep the Starwars themed names.
So these cache in the series are in the place of the old ones:
- Starwars “is back”
- Darth Vader “is back”
- Elimination of the Jedi Order “is back”
- Revenge of the Sith “is back”
The main entrance and best place to park is at the entrance to Clifford Park Activity Centre. The Activity Centre is private property but they welcome walkers, and you are just using it as a short cut through. Just need veer off left into the State Park via the gated fire management track. Market Garden Track and Lucerne Paddock Track are the main tracks to follow. P.S. There is no market!
Enjoy the hike (or mountain bike), it could be a good 7-8km for the whole cache series, and there are some quite big hills, so go prepared, take plenty of water and a few munchies to keep you going.
