SAGA Video Call & Australia Day Event

Grand Cities Mall - common seating area outside Hope Church
Geocaching can be an international affair. Today, we're taking that statement to a new level. You may have attended events with cachers from around the world. But...have you attended an event with cachers from all over....while they're still all over!?! We'll gather locally, but join in a video call with folks from Virginia and South Korea....maybe more locations.
I started caching with a group of folks in South Korea. A group of us gathered at a Leap Day Event on 29 Feb 16 and out of that freezing-cold, Monday night event just outside the main gate at Osan Air Base, South Korea was a group of dedicated geocachers, both military and non-military who are still going strong despite many of its members moving away to different assignments. The Songtan Area Geocachers Association (SAGA) members may now be spread across the globe, but that doesn't mean they can't get back together occasionally for a good 'ole fashion meet & greet; with a little help from the world-wide web. This event will help me stay connected with old friends....and other attendees can connect with new friends!! We will be communicating with simultaneous geocaching events via Facebook messenger. If you would like to bring a computer, tablet, or phone to the event location you may join the chat. You're welcome to come even if you don't have equipment to join the chat.....I'm sure someone will let you look over their shoulder :).
We will be connect to the SAGA Video Call & Australia Day Event in Newport News, Virginia, USA (GC7G4RB) and the ROK Geocachers International Australia Day Event (GC7G076). (If only I knew how to insert links :/) Hoping to see one pop up in Florida as well....
To be clear: This event will include a video call with other SAGA members from around the world, but...
- you do not need to be a SAGA member to attend or participate in the event.
- No pressure to be on camera if you don't want to be
We'll be gathering in the seating area of Grand Cities Mall, at the end closest to Hope Church. (There's a mall entrance right next to Hope Church - just walk straight ahead through that entrance.) There is Wi-Fi available for guest users. Since this is a common seating area, there isn't necessarily food/drink on location. (There may be a pop machine nearby - I'm not sure.)
As an added bonus for attending the event you will receive the Australia Day souvenir!
