Geocache Description:


War Memorial #369 We will remember them ~ Hesleden

The memorial was unveiled on 4th October 2017 at 10.00 am by children from Hesleden Primary School and dedicated by Rev. Susan Richardson and Rev. Roger Davies.

The memorial is a pillar of stone from Staindrop Quarries surmounted by a Latin cross. The total height is 3 metres to the top of the cross. The whole stands on a paved base. On the front of the pillar is a panel of black granite which has the names of 51 men who died in the First and Second World Wars inscribed.
