Rolland “Rollie” S Stover (1909-1997)

Stover was born in Blairstown, Missouri and came to Marshalltown in February 1939 as an engineer for the Fisher Governor Company. Rollie graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in mining engineering.  In 1942, Rollie founded the R. S. Stover Company which to this day is a distributor of process controls, HVAC products, and industrial products for Emerson (formerly Fisher) as a Local Business Partner. The company was incorporated in 1961 with Stover as its head until his retirement in 1968. Rolland was involved with the Iowa Chapter of Heating and Ventilating Engineers, the Central Iowa Section of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Rotary Club, and served on the Marshalltown city council. An avid aviator, Stover was also the owner of the St. Cloud Flying Service in Minnesota.
