Geocache Description:

The view of Ermoupouli, especially when approaching by boat, is famous for the two hills, each with a large church on their summit. The one on the left, Ano Syros, is crowned by the Catholic church of Saint George (Άγιος Γεώργιος), and the one on the right, Vrontado (Βροντάδο) by the Orthodox Church of the Resurrection of the Saviour (Ο Ιερός Ναός Αναστάσεως του Σωτήρος). The word "Vrontado", with quite a bit of poetic translation from Greek, could be a "thundery place", and hence the dramatic name of this multi-cache.

The posted coordinates are at the top of Vrontado by the church and the cache itself is a short distance down the hill. The only reason I have made this a multi-cache, rather than a traditional cache is that I want you to go to the top and enjoy the view! You can get the bus from Ermoupoli all the way up, or drive, or walk the 400-ish steps up. I recommend the walk if you are able.

At the posted coordinates you will find somewhere offering you a drink of water with a small gold sign containing X lines of writing. Below you will see Y old black cannons beneath the pine trees.

After you have had a look in the church and enjoyed the view across the sea to Mykonos, the cannons, and the cool breeze, you can walk the short distance down the hill to N37 26.[(2X-Y)*Y*Y*Y-X*Y-X]*X E24 56.(X*Y+X-Y)*Y*Y*Y+X where you can find the cache.

The cache is a small metal screw-top "bison" container hanging on a length of fishing line. Please be very discreet when extracting it, and please make sure that it is put back with all the fishing line out of sight. I also ask that you don't post spoiler photos or give too much away in your logs.

Many thanks, W (a.k.a. DidianRay)
