Join the BC Geocaching Association and Metro Vancouver Parks as we build our muscles and get our hands dirty (in the best way) as we work with Metro Vancouver Parks staff to remove tree protectors in Aldergrove Regional Park. Add lunch, and hanging around with friends old and new and you've got a great day!
Date: Saturday, April 28, 2018
Time: Noon to 3:30 pm (light lunch from 12:00-12:30pm)
Park: Aldergrove Regional Park
Meeting Location: 501 Lefeuvre Road (Bowl Parking Lot), BC
Activity: Removing Tree Protectors/Vole Guards
We’ll be removing tree protectors from conifers that were planted in the park 5-6 years ago. The task will take place off-trail in the forest, so please dress appropriately for the activity and weather. Most of the work will occur around 49.012207, -122.4560. Due to last winter’s ice storm, there’ll be woody debris on the ground. Thus, sturdy footwear is required. Metro Vancouver will provide tools and refreshments. Meet by the kiosk at the Bowl parking lot (49.010003, -122.452530). A light lunch (pizza) will be available prior to the work party from noon to 12:30 pm.
All participants will receive a Geocaching Souvenir for participating in this event.
