Wanted:Have you seen these scofflaws of nature?
Spend an hour of your pre-Earth Day afternoon helping this little corner of the planet kick out plant invaders like honeysuckle & garlic mustard (and earn a souvenir in the process)! They might sound delicious but these invasive species don't play well with others.
Gracious hosts HCC and GreenFest will supply bags, gloves and direction. Meet on the Quad near the Bikeshare station at 2pm to head to the work area nearby. If you come a little later than 2pm, you'll be able to spot us from the reference waypoint nearby. We'll be pulling these invasive species along a small stream just behind the building - event to end by 3pm. Parking available in Lot A on the HCC Campus. Come early or stay late to check out the free GreenFest (10am-4pm) if you like but certainly not required. This is a relatively quick and painless CITO opportunity but decent sturdy shoes and long pants recommended. Feel free to bring your own gloves. Who knows - might be a chance at some other random door prize swag too...
Did I mention you'll earn a souvenir by attending this CITO event?
This is my first time hosting an event and first geocache "hide" in any capacity! My preference is for Earthcaches, Virtuals and Mystery caches so a CITO seemed a great place to start. Hope you can make it to help clean up and clean out our gameboard and earn a neat little piece of digital art!
