This event will be at Tony's Pizza from 6 PM until 8 PM on Saturday April 14, 2018. We will be gathering to talk Geocaching, trade trackables, and hand out awards for those who registered and participated in our own Planetary Pursuit! You do not need to participate in our Planetary Pursuit to attend, sign the log, and get the smiley.
On March 19, 2018, Geocaching launched the Planetary Pursuit Souvenir Promotion. The promotion ends on Sunday April 8 and you have until Monday April 9, 2018 at 5 AM PST to log your caches to have them count towards your score total. The scores are being shared on your Friend League page found on your user dashboard.
You are awarded variable points depending on the types of caches and travel bugs you log. You can read all of the rules in the Planetary Pursuit launch support (aka FAQ) or see the images below.
In order to participate in the Kern County Cachers Planetary Pursuit, you simply need to "write note" stating you wish to participate before Sunday April 8 and have found a Geocache in Kern County in 2018. According to Groundspeak, the scores disappear on Monday April 9 at 5 AM, so be sure to get a screen shot of your score before that time. Then to confirm your Planetary Pursuit score, post a "will attend" log by Friday April 13th with a screen shot or photo of your total score for the event.
Prizes
We will award coveted trophies for the first five places in the KCC Planetary Pursuit. We might also award trophies for the most caches required to get the most points and the least caches required to get the most points depending on how easy it is to inspect stats. If you have any other fun award prizes you can think of, please mention them (sorry, no least amount of points. That is too easy.).
Can you be the top planetary explorer in Kern County? Good luck!
