Cambridge War Memorial is a spectacular monument featuring a bronze statue of a marching soldier.
Located on Hills Road outside the Botanic Gardens it’s an impressive reminder of the men of Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely who lost their lives in the first and second world wars.
The statue is by Canadian sculptor Robert Tait McKenzie and is known as the "The Homecoming" or sometimes "Coming Home", mounted on a heavily carved limestone plinth. It was unveiled in 1922, and became Grade II listed in 1996.
This is a very busy area for muggles, especially during lunchtimes on week days, so stealth is required.
