Stommare udde är nordspetsen på Getnö gård. I sundet går gränsen mellan Almundsryds och Urshults församlingar. På motsatta sidan av sundet ligger Sirkön.
Strax öster om sundet finns Åsnens djupaste punkt, 17 meter. Då vattnet är ganska strömt på platsen är det sällan isbelagt här på vintrarna.
Fisket är väldigt gott, så när gösen går till kan man här se åtskilliga fiskare.
Cape Stommare is the northern most point of Getnö. In the middle of the strait is the border between the two parishes of Almundsryd and Urshult. On the opposite side is Sirkön.
Just east of the strait is the deepest point, 17 metres, of Lake Åsnen. The water here never freezes as it is so free flowing.
The fishing in the strait is said to be excellent, especially when the zander season is here.
