Geocache Description:

Number 1038 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

I had to make this one a short multi as I've already filled this hamlet up with caches!

Find the following information from the postbox:

The difference in time (in hours) between the last collection at this phone box (Mon to Fri) and the later collection at St John's Square, Abergavenny = A

In the bottom left, there is a phone number, a website address and a fax number. The total number of zeroes (0) in both the phone number AND the fax number = B

Find the following information from the phone box:

The phone number associated with this phone box is 018C3 89DE8F

The cache is at:
N51° 58. C F D
W003° 05. (E+E) (A+1) B

Unfortunately the neighbour next to the phone box sometimes leaves his gate open, allowing dogs to roam. If you are intimated by dogs, you may be reluctant to visit the phone box. If so, look above the door in the church porch and find the quote spread over two wooden plaques, separated by a cross. Gather CDEF via these means instead:
The sum of the number of letters in first and second words on the left plaque = C

E + 1 = D

The number of letters in the third word on the left plaque is = E

The total number of words in the quote (both plaques) +3 = F

Unfortunately this cache isn't suitable for wheelchair users as the phone box is on a mound and the church is only accessible by steps or a stile.

The cache is then a short drive or walk away. It shouldn't be too hard to find!

The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum but is now managed by mattd2k

If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do. I would just ask that you first visit www.afinepair.co.uk to request a number to avoid any duplication

mattd2k also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series. Once your cache is published please contact him via geocachingafinepair@gmail.com to have yours added
