Austin-Dallas I35/ I35E (137 mi)

San Antonio-Houston I10 (187 mi)

Houston-Austin US290 (141 mi)

Dallas-Houston I45 (238 mi)

Austin-San Antonio I35 (80 mi)

San Antonio-Dallas I35 (217 mi)

Scenarios

1- Carlos is going on a business trip. He starts in San Antonio and is driving North on I35 to Dallas. He stops in Waco (we will say it is exactly half way between Austin and Dallas) to get gas. How many miles did he drive so far? Round to the nearest whole number.

2- A bottling plant is in Austin. The truck delivers to San Antonio, from there to Houston, and then back to Austin. How far did the truck travel?

3- Claire is visiting relatives in Houston. She drives from Dallas to Houston, but on the way back to Dallas, her car breaks down 63 miles from Dallas. How many miles did she travel before her car broke down?

4- A fast food joint has restaurants spread across the cities of Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. How many miles would it be to start at a restaurant in Downtown San Antonio, then to a restaurant in Austin, then to a Houston restaurant, and ending in a Dallas restaurant?

5- Kelley and Greg are taking a Geocaching road trip. They are starting in Austin, then caching along the way to Houston, then up to Dallas, and then back to Austin. How many miles will they travel?

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
