Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This is apparently one of a line of 21 surviving milestones along the former Norwich to Thetford turnpike, created in its entirety in 1766 and lasting until 1870. More details on this milestone can be found on the Norfolk Heritage Explorer. If possible I will try and place caches near as many of these milestones as possible, although as I know a few are beside the main A11 I may have to get inventive to make the caches accessible!

The cache is placed very close to the milestone, but further away from the drainage ditch which is behind it. The road is only a 40 mph limit here but cars may still be coming up to the roundabout at speed, please be careful.

You can park on the road-side next to GZ but please be considerate and don't block residents' driveways. You'll also probably need to be a bit stealthy!

A cache near a milestone. If you wish to set a milestone cache then please contact Marcusmaximi who is keeping track of the numbers. You may have to check on the 'magic' map to make sure that a particular milestone is not a scheduled ancient monument or somesuch.
