Now for the Cache:
This cache takes you to one of the many trailheads along the Lone Star Hiking Trail, the longest continuous trail in Texas, making it an ideal location for Texas hikers who want some experience with hiking a long trail without having to leave Texas. The route comprises 96 miles of trail, with 32 additional miles of loops and trail extensions. While the trail is mostly singletrack, it does require hiking on small county roads and even alongside state highways at some points, so use caution.
While the trail itself is not very physically demanding in terms of elevation, it does pose logistical problems. Water sources are not as ample as other large hiking trails across the country, so ample planning should be undertaken.
Bears have not recently been encountered on the Lone Star Hiking Trail, but this cache should help answer the question as to what a bear does in the woods! Plenty of room for Travel Bugs - bring some to rest and pick-up some ready to move. Please replace everything as found.
Your travel bugs will enjoy their short stay in this hotel until it is time for them to be moved along.
LETTERBOX: Letterbox hybrid caches are just like traditional caches, except they include a stamp with the log book. Locate the cache as you normally do; use your own stamp (if you have one) to stamp the log book; and use the letterbox stamp in the cache container to stamp your own log book (if you have one). If you don’t have a letterbox stamp, feel free to just sign the log book as you would normally do in a traditional cache. Please leave the stamp in the container - it is not SWAG. Also, the log for this cache is NOT in the box with the stamp. Thanks.
