Geocache Description:

EST

No vot siis. Kolmas versioon samast aardest. Tasapisi kasvab teine. Eks ole näha mis tulevik toob :)

Asukoha info ikka sama nagu varem:

Katariina kai on sadamaehitis Tallinnas Paljassaare poolsaarel, Paljassaare asumis aadressil Paljassaare tee 46.

Algselt oli muul 500 m pikk, sellest on tänaseni säilinud ca 300 meetrit. Muulil on säilinud lõik kitsarööpmelist raudteed ja kraana alus (pole teada, millal see kraana paigaldati), kaduma on läinud pöörangusulg.

Kai kõrval asub Pikakari rand. Rannas on riietuskabiinid, võrkpalliplats, kiiged, pingid, laudtee, prügikastid, kuivkäimlad. Rannavalve töötab juunist augustini kell 9-20.

Selles väiksemas liivarannas läheb merevesi kiiresti sügavaks, kuid vette minnes on järsk langus ja kivine põhi esimestel meetritel. Põnevust lisavad reisilaevade möödumisel tekkivad lained.

Rand on hinnatud ka Sinilipu ökomärgistuse vääriliseks. Läheduses on Paljassaare hoiuala ning loodusrada.

ENG

This is my third time I have hidden a cache on this location. First time was hidden nine years ago. Six years ago it went missing and I sent it to archive. Two years ago I restored it and opened it again. First it was a nano cache, then bison...now a pet :D So It grows a little bit as years go by :) And since it changed much this time, I decided to reboot the cache so everyone can get a new score :D

About the location:

Pikakari beach, on the Paljassaare peninsula in northern Tallinn, is located near the Katariina pier that was constructed as a part of a battery of the Peter the Great sea fortress. The beach has changing cabins, a volleyball court, swings, a children's playground, benches, a boardwalk, trash bins, and outdoor toilets. Life guards are on duty between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. from June until August.

The sea becomes deep fast at this sandy beach and there is a stony bottom in the first few metres only. Waves created by passing passenger ships add excitement.

The beach has been awarded a Blue Flag. Nearby, you will find the Paljassaare nature reserve and a nature trail.
