How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This is apparently one of a line of 21 surviving milestones along the former Norwich to Thetford turnpike, created in its entirety in 1766 and lasting until 1870. More details on this milestone can be found on the Norfolk Heritage Explorer. This one also has 'London 101 Miles' on it. If possible I will try and place caches near as many of these milestones as possible, although as I know a few are beside the main A11 I may have to get inventive to make the caches accessible!

This cache is hidden near to the milestone but not at it. Please take care crossing the road - there is a pedestrian crossing very close so suggeest this is used if bringing Geokids, and watch out along the side of the road.

28/04/2019 - Cache replaced with a non-magnetic type that's hopefully a bit of a better fit to the host. You will need tweezers.

Well done to Wymondham Wanderers for the FTF!

A cache near a milestone. If you wish to set a milestone cache then please contact Marcusmaximi who is keeping track of the numbers. You may have to check on the 'magic' map to make sure that a particular milestone is not a scheduled ancient monument or somesuch.
