|New Year's Resolution Event 2019
When - Saturday January 12th 2019
Where - Glenanair Forest, Doneraile (Ballyhoura), Co. Cork
Time - 10.30am
The 2019 New Years Resolution walk will take place in Glenanair Forest, Doneraile, Co. Cork. Glenanair is located in the heart of the Ballyhoura uplands and sits right on the border between counties Cork and Limerick.
The event will start at 10.30 am at the posted coordinates (Glenanair Car Park) and finish at 11am.
There is a car park at event GZ that can accommodate about 20 or so cars. In the event that the car park is full upon your arrival, please don't block the access gate to the forest and use the alternative parking waypoints provided.
Post Event Walk
A walk will take place after the event at 11am that is optional and everyone is welcome to join. The walk is a loop and starts and finishes at the event coordinates. The walk is approximately 10K in length with approximately 240m accent, and will take around 2.5 to 3 hours to complete including taking in some caches located on the loop.
The walk is mostly easy going however there are small elevation increases in some places. The terrain is all on forest tracks. Walking boots are highly recommended as some areas may be waterlogged and slippery after rainfall. We will be out in the open so please dress appropriately for the conditions and you should have warm clothes, wet gear, water and food with you.
As part of the Coillte Recreation Policy dogs are permitted as long as they are kept under effective control.
Note: There will be no organized lunch after the walk this year as most people like to make use of the remaining daylight for further adventures.
